Having the Munchies? Here are 7 Healthy Snack Ideas

Hey, there’s no point beating around the bush: getting high makes you hungry. However, just because you have the munchies doesn’t mean you need to eat a giant bag of potato chips. Here are seven healthy snack ideas that will still satisfy your taste buds when you’re high.

Fruit

There’s little on this Earth better for you than fruit. Just can’t put down the sweets? Try putting grapes in the freezer overnight and eating them the next time you’re stoned. They taste like sweet hard candy!

Tortilla Chips and Salsa

This one’s great because there is a seemingly infinite number of varieties of tortilla chips and salsa to mix and match. Want to add a bit of protein to your snack? Grate some cheese (or buy it pre-grated) and sprinkle it on top of the tortilla chips before putting them in the microwave for 15 seconds. Instant nachos!

Smoothie

Mix up some milk, ice, and chunks of fruit (either fresh or frozen) in a blender and indulge your munchies while staying healthy. Interested in jazzing up this healthy snack idea? Put some flax seeds in with the rest of the ingredients and enjoy the extra fibre.

Nutmix

Nuts are one of the healthiest snacks on the planet, and they taste delicious when you’re high. Throw some raisins and dried banana slices into your mix to add a little sweetness and a vitamin boost to boot.

This Mediterranean favourite is sure to quell your latest episode of the munchies. The hummus has a lot of protein, and the whole wheat pita bread gives you a nice supply of fibre. If you’re watching your carbs, or you want to try an even healthier snack idea, consider eschewing the pita bread in favour of some sliced veggies.

Frozen Yogurt

This is as close as you can get to ice cream while remaining healthy. Frozen yogurt comes in an almost limitless number of flavours these days, and for those of you trying to remain extra healthy, there are low-fat options available. Who said healthy snack ideas couldn’t include frozen desserts?
